Meet the Team
Marcos Egipciaco
Marcos Egipciaco founded Sovereign Real Estate Group after more than a decade in the industry. Marcos continually works with banks, pension funds, public REITs, private investment groups and high net worth individuals throughout all cycles of the real estate market. Having sold more than $300 million in real estate to date, he is renowned for his ability to match clients with investment opportunities. Egipciaco previously worked for a national brokerage firm, where he was recognized as a top producer in South Florida. He founded his own firm with the aim to help others make smart decisions in an increasingly complex market.
Damien Ramirez
Prior to joining Sovereign, Mr. Ramirez spent ten years working in commercial banking focused in both real estate and commercial and industrial banking. Mr. Ramirez worked with Regions Bank in Coral Gables, FL as Vice President of Commercial Lending where he grew a portfolio of over $150 million. He also worked with BPD Bank of New York as Vice-President and Team Leader of the commercial lending division in Miami, Fl. Over the decade, Mr. Ramirez was responsible for the origination of short and long-term debt for residential and commercial construction projects, income producing real estate, condominium conversions, SBA Lending, residential mortgage warehouse lending, private banking and asset based lending, including equipment/inventory loans, borrowing base loans and factoring. During his career, Mr. Ramirez closed over 50 commercial financing transactions. In 2007, Mr. Ramirez was recognized as the top quarterly producer for the entire South division while at Regions Bank, a $146 billion bank, ranked in the top ten in the United States. Damien Ramirez graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in Finance, from Florida International University.
Albert Diaz de Villegas
Albert has worked in Residential Real Estate for the past ten years, compiling a stellar resume of generating and executing residential real estate transactions. Albert is an expert in Southeast Florida residential markets. In 2009 he closed 110 residential transactions proving he can successfully close deals even in challenging market conditions. Albert has adapted with market conditions and as such is well versed in traditional simple fee transactions as well as short sale and REO properties and has consistently been a member of the Multi-million Dollar Club, a designation given to top local area residential real estate brokers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Florida International University.
Anthony Garay
Anthony has practiced as a licensed real estate broker in Florida for the past ten years. He served as the Regional Project Director for Mederos Capital Group, a local area real estate investor/developer prior to relocating to Charlotte, NC in 2007. At Mederos he was involved with site selection, raising capital, construction planning, sales and leasing, and property management. In Charlotte, NC Anthony worked for the Neighborhood Revitalization Group (NRG), where he redeveloped retail and mixed-use properties located in high-density, low to moderate income urban neighborhoods. Anthony oversaw site selection, due diligence and negotiating lease terms. Anthony also has experience working with government officials throughout the real estate development process.
Alejandro Arias
Alejandro is a licensed Florida Sales Associate and is currently enrolled at the University of Miami School of Law, where he is pursuing a law degree and LL.M. (Legal Master’s of Law) in Real Property Development. As a direct result of his participation in this legal program, he has studied and analyzed legal and transactional issues related to subjects like land acquisition, finance, regulation, tax law, construction law, and residential and commercial development. A recent addition to the Sovereign Real Estate Group, Alejandro has also secured a prestigious internship at The Related Group, the nation’s leading builder of luxury condominiums and one of the country’s premier multi-family real estate development firms. During his law school career, Alejandro has also earned a number of honors, including Dean’s List classification, Law Review membership, and a CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Alejandro also holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Florida International University.
